What is RTI?
Response to Intervention (RTI) is very simply a decision-making process which applies high-quality instruction by matching interventions to assessed student and academic needs.
RTI uses a three-tier system to support students in the learning process.
- Tier 1 includes all learners and involves employing differentiated instruction techniques to ensure student mastery.
- Tier 2 supports learners that need additional or more targeted strategies in order to achieve academic goals.
- Tier 3 includes very few students and focuses on identifying learning challenges based on multiple data sources and systematically teaching with effective strategies.
