NOAH WILSON - WRESTLING STATE TOURNAMENT

    

Noah Wilson became the 1st Sequoyah Indian wrestler to win a regional championship by winning the 220 pound 3A East Regional at Bristow.  He also became the 1st Sequoyah sophomore wrestler to qualify for the State Wrestling Tournament.  Noah advanced to the semifinal round at State.

TIGER & PHILPOTT - STATE WRESTLING QUALIFIERS

Seniors Will Tiger and Nolan Philpott made history by being Sequoyah's 1st teammates to qualify for the State Wrestling Tournament in the same year.  Both placed 3rd at the Regional Tournament in Sperry to punch their ticket to State.  Tiger broke new ground by being the 1st Indian wrestler to qualify for 2 State Tournaments.  Philpott placed 3rd, tying the best State Tournament finish for SHS, set by Tiger in 2014.  Tiger made it to the consolation semifinal at the State Tournament this year.

Will Tiger finished 3rd at the State Wrestling Tournament in OKC, Feb. 28 and Mar. 1.  This is the highest finish ever for an SHS Indian Wrestler.  Will was the first Indian Wrestler to qualify for State in 4 years.
